Packard Bell RPC-31 restoration project

This is an ongoing project

This is the RPC-31 I am working on. I have quite a bit of experience working with guitar amps, so getting the preamp and postamp to work was a synch. There are two functional pieces that I need to finish up. First is the FM tuner (I have no idea how tuners and FM multiplexing work). Second is that I need to order a phono needle. There is a specialty shop just north of here, so it shouldn't be a problem.

I've added some pictures of the DPA30-4 power amp. It's a 5U4-GB rectifier, a 12AX7 (per side) and two EL-84's (per side).

I did most of the grunt work sanding down the cabinet today. You can see the progress in the pics below.

Finished the finishing work and used stock linnen as grill cloth. Had J&S look over the turntable. This has been a wonderful experience. The stereo has a distinctive mid-rangy sound (which may be cured by using new speakers soon). All in all, I am extremely pleased.
